25 April, 2008 -- Beijing E-C Translation (BEC), has recently expended its overall team to 180 full-time employees. This expansion involves BEC’s Beijing headquarters and its main production and sales branches in Shenyang, Chengdu and Shanghai. After more than ten years of development, Chinese localization suppliers have accumulated solid experience and mastered advanced tools and technologies. As Chinese localization suppliers gain more recognition and increase their prominence in this industry, more and more clients hope that the Chinese vendors will handle not only their requests for Asian languages, but also European languages. In October 2006, BEC attended the Localization World Conference held in Montreal, Canada.
At the LISA Global Strategies Summit held in New York, USA, 26-30 June 2006, the session led by our CEO Shirley Yeng called "Localization Vendor Qualification in China" ranked SECOND among a total of 12 Workgroup sessions which were represented mainly by companies in Europe and the USA.
In May 2006, BEC President Dr. James Wei went to Spain for the Localization World Conference.
In April 2006, BEC President Dr. James Wei and CEO of the Singaporean branch Shirley Yeng attended the LISA Forum held in Shanghai, where Dr. Wei gave a talk on localization vendor qualification.
In January 2006, Telelogic, the leading global provider of software and services for Enterprise Lifecycle Management (ELM), began to entrust its localization projects to BEC.
After a long time of providing localization services to HP through Multilingual Vendor (MLV), BEC became HP China's direct strategic service provider for localization in December 2005.
In July 2005, BEC established another production base in Chengdu. BEC now has five branches around Asia, in Shanghai, Shenyang, Chengdu, Hong Kong, and Singapore. This presence around Asia allows us to fully support our clients.
2004 was another fruitful year for BEC. Motorola, Microsoft, Cisco, Google, Siemens, Honeywell, GE, Canon, LG, Samsung, and many other well-known companies continue to work with BEC.
In 2003, BEC successfully provided localization and translation service to well-known companies such as IBM, Sun, Serena, and JUJI.

BEC is equipped with TTT/PC to localize software that runs on IBM AS400.
BEC won the subcontract from BGS to localize the banking software for Fiserv in 2002. Fiserv is a leading financial service provider for banking, insurance, and other industries. The project required the work of 27 full-time employees for six months.
BEC upgraded TRADOS to Team Version 5.0 in 2002. We also upgraded to Catalyst 4.0, RoboHELP office X3, and SDLX 4.0.
BEC was selected as a localization service provider for SAS China in 2002. SAS is one of the largest data mining and enterprise solution providers in the world.
BEC won SUN's global localization vendor bidding in 2001. BEC is now a preferred localization vendor for SUN's Asian language localization projects.
BEC was equipped with Mac (OS9.2) in 2001, enabling us to provide full DTP services on Mac and PC.
BEC was certified as a corporate member of ATA (American Translation Association) in 2001.
BEC won a subcontract from Interpro to localize the financial and ERP software for Mapics in 2000. Mapics is one of the big financial and ERP software developers in the world.
In 2000, BEC was selected as a preferred vendor by eTranslate for Asian language website localization. eTranslate provides website localization for international companies.
Berlitz selected BEC as a preference vendor for Chinese localization and translation projects in 1999 and cut four other service providers in China. Berlitz is one of the largest localization/translation service providers in the world, with 120 years of history in the industry. We shave been working with Berlitz for five years.
BEC was selected by PTC from among 27 candidates as a preferred vendor for itsCAD/CAM software localization in 1999. PTC is one of the world's biggest and earliestCAD/CAM software developers. We have been working with PTC for five years.
BEC was selected as a vendor by SDL for Siebel Software localization in 1999. Siebel isone of the world's largest and earliest CRM and ERP software developers.
